Mummy's Thoughts - Part 5

Ai yo, why this Mummy (that's ME) got so many thoughts in mind ah? Hee...

I'm an aquarian, an unconventional person, probably alot of thoughts. I'm not shy to share my feelings/views (sometimes useless views. Keke... ;p)

Cayden is now 14days old as of today, 01st August 09. Very soon, he will hit his one month old. & then... ... ... Daddy will fly off to Sweden for 2 months. Will only be back end October. As for Cayenne, after end August, she will no longer go to Lily's place. (Everytime I think of it, wanna cry. Typical Aquarian - make of water!)

I'll take care of my two lovely kids myself during my ML. Hopefully I can do a DECENT job of taking care of them.

The Confinement "Commandments"

I haven't mention anything on my confinement, have I? Hmm... Well, this time round, I didn't follow strictly on the confinement "commandments". During Cayenne's time, I probably followed about 90%? I think not bad. BUT this time, probably I followed only 10%! Haha...

The confinement "commandments" - You name them, I break them! ;p

1) Start off with bathing. Old folks' beliefs - Cannot bath, must wait till 12days. I bathed on the day I delivered Cayden. & thereafter, I bath everday. Sometimes up to thrice a day! Sshh...

2) Either air con or fan - I use both! Even fan directly blow @ me!

3) Must be well covered by clothes - I wear sleeveless top & shorts!

4) Socks & bedroom slippers - Well, I look @ my feet now, they are naked!

5) No water - I did drink the red dates/longan water & WATER! & lots of it!

6) Cannot go out - I went out a few times & even go downstairs to do marketing for my Cayenne's meals.

And what else ah?

I don't regret my "misbehaviour" now, at least I'm more happier and relaxed this time. Maybe when I get old & here pain, there ache, then probably I'll regret my naughty behaviour. Well, I'll leave it till I get old then. Hahaha... ;p

I wanna break free!

Of cos not me! It's my Darling Cayenne! Haha...

She "auto broke" the sarong sleeping! Received sms from Jann while I was in KK on Saturday. Jann sms-ed saying Cayenne's sleeping habit had changed! Was very happy!

Since 18th July 09, Saturday, Cayenne has been co-sleeping with Dennis & me. ;)

Kinda of ironical. Most parents would want their kids to "break" the co-sleep habit when their kids get older BUT for the Chua Family, we do the opposite. Haha...

Though Cayenne isn't so "sticky" to me which I'm glad, she still needs me to be lie on the bed with her during naps and night sleeping. So when comes to sleeping times, I tend to be very BUSY if the timing clashes with Cayden's latching on time. I gotta to settle Cayden then "run" off to handle Cayenne ever since I got discharged from hospital. This lasted for at least 1 week plus. How I wish to have two MEs! So that I can handle both Cs concurrently. ;p

Then I decided to feed Cayden formula milk instead of direct latching around 8plus-9plus. This timing has been reserved for Cayenne. The confinement lady feeds Cayden while I lie with Cayenne on the bed around this timing. At least I won't get tired so easily. ;)

I had told myself that this time round, I would do better. Add stress on myself? Keke... Well, I think not. I told myself that I would strive to be a happy & relaxed Mummy this time.

Don't want to get so stressed over the breastfeeding issue as I was during Cayenne's time. With Cayenne around, I think probably I won't be able to last long with the breastfeeding. Cos Cayenne needs my attention as much as Cayden. It won't be fair if I neglect her just because I want to breastfeed Cayden. Afterall, I grew up on formula milk & am healthy too. So with this mentality in mind, I'm more of a happier and relaxed Mummy now. ;)

Mummy's Thoughts - Part 4

Had a minor "breakdown" yesterday morning. What else but cry. ;p

Probably I am stressed over having to handle Cayenne & Cayden ALONE as Dennis will be flying off to Sweden for course training after baby shower. For 2 solid months! ;( I will be left alone to take care of both kids & to supervise the helper. Plus we are sending Cayenne to Childcare Centre in September. The thought of it makes my tears flow out. I do not want to send Cayenne to CC so early. So much transition happenings around her. Arrival of my helper, 弟弟 & then gotta to send her to CC. Feels heartpain whenever I think of it.

Like to ask any sane mummies around, will you feel stress if you are me? Sigh...

Talking about the minor breakdown yesterday, I was instructing my helper to prepare lunch for Cayenne. She tends to be forgetful & do wrong sometimes. So I asked her to tell me the preparation procedure. Jann was jokingly telling me "STRESSED". Immediately I flared up though not loud. I slammed the kitchen gate and locked myself in the room to cry. Of cos this is not the 1st incident. There are a few incidents which I told Jann, she tells me if she is the helper, she will feel the stress. I'm thinking probably she is not me, having to undergo a few transitions in my life now, she will not understand how I feel.

I am thinking who should be the one to feel the stress?! I engaged my helper to assist me or at least to lighten my burden, NOT to create more problems for me.

My stand is I have to make sure my helper knows my requirements. She is only here for one month plus. If I too lax on her, won't it be harder to train her or want her to do things as per my instructions?

19th July 09, Sunday - Discharge Day

My gynae came to visit me on Saturday early morning around 6plus, checked on my stitch below & give me the "green light" to be discharged on Sunday.
